uPVC windows have been developing in China for over twenty years and have become a significant part of the energy-efficient window market. Although energy-efficient aluminum windows with thermal breaks are gradually gaining market share, uPVC windows are still widely used in various homes and projects. Here are the main advantages of uPVC windows:

1. Excellent Thermal Insulation

uPVC window materials are poor conductors of heat, with a thermal conductivity that is only 1/360 of steel and 1/250 of aluminum, providing excellent thermal insulation. Additionally, uPVC profiles typically have multi-chamber structures (some regions have developed five-chamber or even six-chamber structures), creating independent air insulation layers that further reduce the overall thermal conductivity of the material.

Experiments have shown that the heat transfer coefficient (K value) of single-glazed uPVC windows can be below 5, meeting the energy efficiency requirements of buildings in regions with hot summers and warm winters. Double-glazed uPVC windows can achieve a K value below 3, suitable for regions with hot summers and cold winters, as well as cold climates. In comparison, even Low-E insulated glass aluminum windows can only achieve K values between 3.5 and 3.0. Therefore, to meet the same K value requirements, uPVC windows can use more economical glass, reducing project costs.

2. Superior Air Tightness

The frame and sash materials of uPVC windows are connected by fusion welding, making the window frame and sash a single unit with no gaps between horizontal and vertical materials, preventing air from passing through the joints. uPVC windows have high dimensional accuracy and precision, with cleverly designed frame-sash overlaps. During assembly, all gaps are fitted with sealing strips or sealing brushes. The glass is embedded in a groove formed by glazing beads and the sash, sealed with elastic rubber on both sides. Sliding window sashes lock into the sliding window frame track, sealed with brushes; between sliding sashes, there are two brush seals. Casement windows are sealed with strips between the frame and sash, with sealing strips on both the interior and exterior sides of the sash and frame.
